When GangaaJal released 13 years ago, it became a huge hit due to its hard-hitting story and powerpacked performances. Prakash Jha hopes to recreate the same magic with Jai GangaaJal, which revisits the dusty heartland of Central India and examines the societypolice relationship. The cop drama, which stars Priyanka Chopra as SP Abha Mathur, has already created a lot of buzz due to its action-packed trailer, earthy soundtrack and powerful dialogues. The film also marks Jha's debut as an actor in a full-fledged role and will see Pee Cee and him, two National Award winners in their own right, share screen space for the first time. Manav Kaul, Rahul Bhatt and Ninad Kamat have pivotal roles in it, too.
